The Erasmus+ program is the largest program of the European Union for education and training, youth, and sports, operating for more than 30 years. It started as a student exchange program, and in the meantime, it has grown into a program for all generations, with numerous activities, and different organizations. The program enables the promotion of better education and a more inclusive society, the creation of innovative solutions for today’s challenges, and the acquisition of the skills of the future.
The program strengthens the connection between education and research, critical thinking, employability, social inclusion, civic engagement, innovation, and sustainable development. At the same time, digital opportunities (skills of the future), the development of transnational and transdisciplinary curricula, innovative learning and teaching methods, and online collaboration are encouraged and supported.
Erasmus+ includes various activities involving mobility of students and staff:
- Teaching and traineeship: Teaching staff, researchers and non-teaching staff can, through mobility, hold classes, open/public lectures, conduct trainings and workshops, etc. at other institutions. Students are welcome to register for certain lectures, traineeship, to participate in organized workshops, seminars and other events.
- “Job shadowing” – Staff also have the opportunity to go for the purpose of exchanging work experience with colleagues from similar fields.
