On October 11th and 12th, the 14th Gathering of Baptists in Croatia took place at the “Word and Life” Pastoral Center of the Baptist Church in Rijeka. This year’s theme, “The Word of Christ – Spirit & Life,” was inspired by the Bible verse, “…The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.” (John 6:63).
The gathering brought together several hundred believers who worshipped God through prayer, songs, sermons, and testimonies. Maja Seguin, the Executive Secretary of the College, was also present at this significant event.
The morning services were led by Željko Mraz, the General Secretary of the Baptist Union, and Filip Grujić, pastor of the church in Zagreb. Sermons were delivered by Ivan Špićak and Georgio Grlj.
Participants heard the testimony of the youngest pastor of the Baptist Church, currently serving in Umag, and saw the progress on the construction of the church in Čakovec. Additionally, they learned about the “House of Possibilities” project run by the church in Varaždin, which supports young people leaving state care facilities. The story of young Paula Špićak, for whom many prayed after her family faced a difficult diagnosis, was also shared.
