What a Start to 2025!
In just two months, our college has welcomed over a hundred students, lecturers, pastors, missionaries, and representatives from various evangelical organizations, universities, and faculties from the city, region, and beyond.
From January 27 to 29, the Board of the European Evangelical Alliance (EEA), the umbrella organization connecting European evangelical Christians, held its session.
That same week, which was also an intensive teaching week, we were honored to host guest lecturers Meego Remmel (KUS, Estonia) and Dejan Aždajić (FTH, Germany). In the following weeks, from February 3 to 14, we welcomed eight PhD students from six European countries. As part of the Osijek Doctoral (Winter) Colloquium, they had the opportunity to conduct research in the library and participate in other program activities.
On the afternoon of February 9, our library hosted 14 married couples for a marriage seminar organized by EPC Osijek. The workshop was led by Sandra and Davor Kukec.
The activities continued with the annual mission conference, organized by the Central and Eastern European Association for Mission Studies (CEEAMS) and our seminary. Over three days, from February 14 to 17, the conference gathered around fifty missiologists, missionaries, pastors, and theologians from across Europe, marking the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed and discussing the polycentric nature of Christ’s mission.
We also had the pleasure of welcoming friends from the INCHE – International Network for Christian Higher Education. From February 17 to 18, we engaged in fruitful discussions about expanding our collaboration and strengthening ETVOS’s involvement in this network.
Following this, we held our first Erasmus BIP seminar, featuring sixteen lecturers from five universities and colleges across five European countries. From February 17 to 21, our ETVOS team, along with participants from Estonia (KUS), Slovakia (UMB), Romania (U-Arad), the Netherlands (DCU), Lithuania, and the USA (LCC), connected over the theme of Christian character formation and a holistic approach to theological education. They also worked on joint projects, explored our city’s history, and even danced together.
During these active months, our lecturers have also been guests at various events. Vice Dean David Kovačević participated in a roundtable discussion titled “What Can People Hope for Today and Why? Biblical and Less Biblical Answers” on February 5, 2025, at the Pastoral Spaces of the Archdiocesan Vicariate in Osijek. Meanwhile, Dean Dalibor Kraljik and the Head of the Institute for Christian Music and Worship, Judita Paljević Kraljik, attended the traditional National Prayer Breakfast in Washington on February 6, 2025. And yes, we were also involved in organizing the first Lausanne meeting for our region!
Plans for the next quarter are already underway. Stay tuned!
And come by—have a coffee with us, listen to a lecture from our lifelong learning program, or enroll in a theology program to nourish your soul.
Glory to God in the highest!
