Yesterday, on October 28, 2023, at Knjižara Nova, our lecturer Meic Pearse held an interesting lecture on the intertwining of economic growth and the Reformation in 16th-century Europe.
He discussed the shift in the Christian paradigm and social theories that highlight the connection between urban individualism, work ethics, education, the expansion of markets, and capital growth. He emphasized the importance of these factors, but also highlighted the influence of religious pluralism on economic growth, particularly when analyzing countries like the Netherlands, Great Britain, and the northern part of America.
