Prayer for the Start of the New Academic Year

Published: October 3, 2024

Yesterday, as part of this year’s Reformation Days, a solemn prayer for the beginning of the academic year was held at the Evangelical Pentecostal Church “Radosne Vijesti.”

Following an opening address by Pastor Damir Špoljarić, the dean of ETVOS, Dr. Dalibor Kraljik, expressed gratitude to the church for its support and prayers. He emphasized that “our goal is education for ministry, society, and life: our Christian academic theological education is based on the Bible, and its beginning, center, and end is prayer. Therefore, we pray for the blessing of the new academic year, for the blessing of our students and all staff at our college, and for the blessing of the churches we serve. Above all, we thank God for everything, because all we have, we have received ‘by God’s grace given to you in Christ Jesus’ (1 Cor 1:4).”

To conclude, Dr. Peter Kuzmič, one of the founders of the college, former long-time dean, and lecturer at our and many other universities, prayed a prayer of thanksgiving for church leaders, citing Matthew 6:33.
