This past weekend, our lecturer and head of the Institute for Christian Music and Worship delivered a lecture at the Baptist Church in Zadar on the topic “Jesus in the Biblical Festivals.” The lecture brought to life the worship context of Jesus’ time, focusing on the prescribed biblical festivals: Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost, the New Year, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles. Through detailed descriptions of the celebrations and the theological significance of these festivals in the lives of the Israelites, the context was set for observing the coming of Jesus, who Himself participated in these festivals during His earthly ministry. It was also shown how Jesus, through His life, redemptive death, and resurrection, fulfilled the message of these festivals.
Dean Dalibor Kraljik delivered a sermon at the Sunday worship service on the theme “One People of God” (Ephesians 2:11-18), reminding those present that through Christ’s work on the cross, they became part of God’s people and have a new identity in Jesus Christ.
We extend our gratitude to our hosts, Pastor Ivan Mustač and Pastor Miroslav Balint-Feudvarski, for their invitation, as well as to the entire church for their hospitality and warm fellowship. We look forward to continued collaboration.
