Balkan Learning Community Meeting Organized by the European Evangelical Alliance (EEA)

From February 19 to 21, the city of Golem in Albania hosted the Balkan Learning Community meeting, organized by the European Evangelical Alliance (EEA). This gathering brought together evangelical Christian leaders from Albania, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, and Croatia.

Dalibor Kraljik, Dean of the Evangelical Theological Seminary and General Secretary of the Protestant Evangelical Council in Croatia, represented our country at the event. The meeting was also attended by EEA General Secretaries Connie Main Duarte from Portugal and Jan Wessels from the Netherlands.

The delegates engaged in discussions regarding the current challenges facing the countries of the broader Balkan region, particularly concerning the work of national evangelical alliances. The socio-political issues in these countries, which heavily influence evangelical Christianity, church activities, and religious freedoms, were also addressed. Furthermore, the meeting opened the door to potential collaboration between national evangelical alliances, Christian organizations, institutions, and local churches.

Representing our country was Dalibor Kraljik, Dean of the Evangelical Theological Seminary, in his capacity as General Secretary of the Protestant Evangelical Council in the Republic of Croatia. The event was also attended by the General Secretaries of the EEA, Connie Main Duarte from Portugal and Jan Wessels from the Netherlands.

In the blessed fellowship of the delegates present, discussions focused on current issues in the broader Balkan region, particularly regarding the work of national evangelical alliances. The group also addressed socio-political situations in these countries, which greatly impact evangelical Christianity, the activities of evangelical churches, and religious freedoms in general. Additionally, the gathering opened up significant opportunities for potential cooperation among national evangelical alliances, Christian organizations, institutions, and local churches.
